A really fun teacher

Andrea is a really fun teacher. In a lesson she explains things very well and she often explains it with an exemple. Sometimes she visualizes it and that is really funny. I am always laughing in her lessons and when I look around, all the other people are too. And when you need help with something, she takes time to...

Inspiring and funny analogies

During Zomercursus Woudschoten 2025, I had lessons with Andrea Vasi with two of my ensembles. During the lessons Andrea always keeps inspiring us to play more dramatically and exaggerate the phrasing of the music in such a way that we were able to create a real story out of each of each of the pieces. She does this by describing very well by using funny stories and ...

She does this by describing very well by using funny stories and analogies that usually make everyone laugh in the ensemble. Her experience with different instruments allows everyone in the ensemble to move forwards. For piano specifically, she gave very helpful tips about what I should practice. In the end, Andrea has helped us to get the most out of ourselves as musicians!

Ensemble

Andrea is a stunning teacher who conveys an enormous passion for the music that is worked on. Not hesitant to sing, shout, stomp, dance or whatever necessary to deepen her students' comprehension of the piece's meaning and put that into their playing, she defies conventions that keep musicians from playing freely and enjoying it, yet most certainly doing so without ignoring the technical facility it takes to get there. To the contrary: ...

To the contrary: she carefully instructs each individual player concerning this matter if they need it.

Piano

I had the pleasure of learning from Andrea when I was working on Poulenc's trio for piano, oboe and bassoon. She used our time very efficiently though without rushing through at any point, enabling me to develope steeply in terms of technique and tonal quality while also staying reassuringly patient. This left me way more comfortable behind the keys and within the ensemble during our following sessions and, combined ...

Piano

I had the pleasure of learning from Andrea when I was working on Poulenc's trio for piano, oboe and bassoon. She used our time very efficiently though without rushing through at any point, enabling me to develope steeply in terms of technique and tonal quality while also staying reassuringly patient. This left me way more comfortable behind the keys and within the ensemble during our following sessions and, combined with just the right instructions on how to continue practicing after the lesson, propelled me from struggling to fit in my part to being able to enjoy the musical experience together with the wind players and successfully perform the piece.

I was so lucky to have had Andrea as a pianoteacher.

She has the talent and personality to get the best out of me. She keeps emphasising the joy of making music, because the music lives in her. She helped me to grow as a musician and gave me a new view of the world of music.
